Project SEARCH at Corewell Health Wayne, operated by Wayne-Westland Community Schools and taught by Angela Beauchamp, began in the 2023–2024 school year. The program is rooted in a small, close-knit hospital community where interns gain meaningful work experience in areas such as medical supply stocking, patient transport, cleaning, and dietary services. What makes this site special is the strong sense of connection and support among staff in a smaller hospital setting, which creates personalized opportunities for growth. Looking ahead, the team is working to build more capacity within the hospital to expand opportunities for interns.
