Professional Bio
Dr. Erin Senkowski serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Instructional Programs for the Saginaw Intermediate School District, a role she began in 2024. With over 20 years in education, she has dedicated her career to supporting students with exceptionalities and advancing inclusive, high-quality educational systems across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
Dr. Senkowski began her career as a special education teacher serving students with Autism and Emotional Impairments in Midland County. She later taught in Saginaw Township before stepping into leadership roles with the Saginaw ISD, including Special Education Supervisor, Assistant Director, and Executive Director of Special Education. She has also served as adjunct faculty at Central Michigan University.
She holds a B.S. and M.A. from Central Michigan University, an Ed.S. from Saginaw Valley State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. Her certifications include K–12 Special Education, Elementary Education, English, school administration, and full approval as a Director of Special Education in Michigan.
Dr. Senkowski is committed to equitable education for all students and serves as co-chair of the Legislative Advocacy Committee for the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), where she advises on policy and legislative impact. Locally, she serves on the Saginaw United Way Board of Directors. In 2023, she was honored with MAASE’s Marvin Beekman Award for outstanding leadership in special education.
