Professional Learning Programs

As the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), we are dedicated to empowering education leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to create inclusive, equitable learning environments for all students. Our programs are designed to address the critical needs of today’s educators, fostering professional growth and impactful leadership in special education.

From developing inclusive leadership skills and mentoring future leaders to addressing the shortage of skilled paraeducators, our programs provide innovative, hands-on training for educators at all stages of their careers. Each initiative integrates best practices, collaborative learning opportunities, and practical strategies tailored to the unique challenges in special education.

The Paraeducator Train the Trainer Program addresses Michigan's critical shortage of skilled paraeducators by equipping trainers with the confidence and tools to lead the Paraeducator Bootcamp. The Bootcamp combines asynchronous online modules and in-person group sessions aligned with the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Paraeducator Core Competencies. Participants learn to assess their skills against these competencies, empowering paraeducators to excel in their roles and support exceptional student outcomes. Learn More
