MAASE Early Impact Award

Recognizing outstanding achievement, exceptional outcomes, and exemplary leadership in early-career special education administrators across Michigan.

Award Purpose

The Early Impact Award is presented to a MAASE member in their first five years of leading special education programs and services.

This honor recognizes nominees who exhibit leadership within and outside their administrative roles, engage actively in regional or statewide collaborative endeavors, and demonstrate initiative to improve programs supporting special education.

Nomination Submission Requirements

  • Complete the official online nomination form
  • Submit two (2) professional letters of recommendation

Nominee Qualifications

Deserving candidates demonstrate the following characteristics:

• Guiding Principles: Demonstrates leadership aligned with MAASE core principles
• Exemplary Practice: Fosters and supports exceptional outcomes for students
• Adaptive Leadership: Provides technical and adaptive support to peers and staff
• MAASE Engagement: Participates in volunteer and leadership opportunities
• Innovation: Promotes innovative, effective, and forward-thinking programming
• Exceptional Impact: Contributes to the field in ways considered "beyond their years"
