SLIP Community of Practice
Supervisors of Low Incidence Programs
About
Supervisors of Low Incidence Populations (SLIP) is a vibrant Community of Practice within MAASE, bringing together leaders who are passionate about serving students in center-based programs or schools with low-incidence populations. While most members are supervisors or directors of these programs, SLIP is open to all MAASE members seeking to collaborate, learn, and lead in this important area of special education.
SLIP meetings are held during lunch at MAASE's Tuesday professional learning sessions in Lansing, offering a dedicated space to dive into key topics such as state regulations, instruction, Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS), transition, staff evaluations, and professional learning. The SLIP listserv keeps the conversation going year-round, providing a powerful network for members to communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve in real-time.
Our annual Winter Conference, held each January, is shaped by our members, ensuring that the topics are timely, relevant, and impactful. SLIP members are also at the forefront of state-wide initiatives, including surveys, white papers, the DLM Pilot, School Improvement Plans, and programming to age 25. Join SLIP to be part of a dynamic community making a lasting difference in the field of low incidence education!
