Are you ready to showcase your expertise, inspire colleagues, and contribute to this year’s Summer Institute? Our breakout session proposal window is NOW OPEN!
We’re calling on YOU to share your innovative practices, actionable tools, and thought-provoking insights to advance the field of special education! We know that organizing your ideas and submitting a proposal can sometimes feel overwhelming so we wanted to provide you with the tools and information for a successful submission. Copy these questions and tips into a document to draft your proposal and then it will be as easy as copy and paste!
Proposal Preparation
The submission form will include the following fields:
- Presenter Information
- Session Title
- Minimum of 3 Learning Outcomes
- Session Description (character limit: 3,000)
- Connection to MAASE Guiding Principles
- Strategies Planned to Engage Adult Learners
- Connection to Areas of Practice
Highly rated proposals will include the following:
- A clear and compelling connection to current, widespread challenges facing educators or administrators
- Explicit alignment to pressing needs in the field, supported by timely examples or contexts
- Clearly stated objectives that are well-aligned with the session description
- A logical and coherent session flow, moving purposefully from problem identification to practical solutions
- Concrete, actionable tools, strategies, frameworks, or resources that participants can readily apply in their work
- A session description that allows reviewers to confidently envision the participant experience
- Intentional audience engagement strategies that actively involve participants and extend beyond a lecture-only format
- Practical takeaways that support immediate or near-term application in professional practice
